How to fly to Europe for less than Rs. 15,000

1. Flight prices vary. A lot. This means 2 things: 1. You need to choose your dates carefully to book the cheapest flights and 2. If you try to verify our screenshots, you might find that the prices have changed (increased most likely)

2. The lowest WizzAir prices are not inclusive of baggage. If you want to carry anything other than a backpack, you’ll have to pay extra and the charges vary based on the route – thankfully, the charges on the Abu Dhabi routes tend to be on the lower side compared to other WizzAir routes

3. The flights are on separate tickets. And this has different implications depending on whether you want to stopover in Abu Dhabi or just transit through the airport.

Transiting through Abu Dhabi

If you’d like to transit through any airport, you need the boarding pass of your subsequent flight (or for the airline to have check in counters in the international transit area).

If you book Wizz Air, you can get your boarding pass online so you can transit between your Abu Dhabi and Europe flights even though they’re on separate tickets. If you have any issues Abu Dhabi Airport’s transit desks should be able to help you out.

There is a catch though. If your flight from India to Abu dhabi is delayed and you miss your Europe flight, neither airline will take responsibility or help you out. You’ll need to book a new flight. To avoid this unpleasant situation, you’ll need to schedule at least 6 hours of layover time between the two flights.

Note that if you don’t have any checked luggage and have the boarding pass for the next flight, you don’t need to clear immigration. However, if you have checked luggage, you need to clear immigration, collect your bags and check them in again OR you’ll have to book an Airport luggage service that will collect your luggage from your India to Abu Dhabi flight and check it in with your Abu Dhabi to Europe flight without you having to clear immigration. 

Stopping over in Abu Dhabi

This approach drastically reduces the chance that you’ll miss your flight to Europe and let’s you visit a new destination at the same time.

Fly from India to Abu Dhabi, stay in and explore Abu Dhabi for up to four days hours and then take your flight to Europe.

This way, you get to visit an additional country for the same flight and visa costs (Abu Dhabi has a 48-hour transit visa that is FREE! and a 96-hour transit visa that costs a little over INR 1000).

In case your flight from India to Abu Dhabi is significantly delayed, you might have to explore Abu Dhabi a little less but you’re guaranteed to reach Europe. (Seriously, how often are flights delayed by 48 hours?)
